On Saturday, Sept. 28th, representatives of CUSA’s Advocacy Team attended a community transit forum event hosted by Free Transit Ottawa. The event, held at Ottawa Public Library – Sunnyside Branch, was an opportunity to share experiences regarding transit, and share insightful suggestions and improvements to Ottawa’s public transit system, particularly bus routes 6 and 7.
Also in attendance was Nick Grover, Free Transit Ottawa representative, media from The Charlatan, and Nitin Datta, Assistant Business Agent for ATU Local 279. CUSA’s attendance, led by Associate V.P. for University and Government Affairs, Aidan Kallioinen, spoke specifically to the need for increased off-peak service hours and more flexible scheduling for students, in addition to the opening of O-Train Line 2 as soon as possible.
CUSA looks forward to continuing to work with its wider partners in the community to deliver a transit system that works for all riders.
