The executive team is responsible for improving CUSA services and working on the issues important to you. The CUSA President is elected at large each year, whereas the Vice Presidents are selected by CUSA Council. The VP Finance is selected by CUSA Council via recommendations from a hiring panel. AVPs assist the executive team and full-time staff with large-scale projects and executive initatives. They are responsible for a variety of areas of work, including government relations, university affairs, our volunteer team, and more.

CUSA Council is where decisions about the association are made. Council is composed of 35 voting members including the CUSA President, 31 Faculty representatives, a representative from the Rideau River Residence Association (RRRA), a representative from the Carleton Academic Student Government (CASG), and a student-at-large.
Many non-voting members participate in CUSA Council including the CUSA Vice-Presidents, the Graduate Students’ Association (GSA), and the Board of Governors Student Representatives.
Students are welcome to attend CUSA Council meetings. After each Council meeting, minutes are uploaded to the CUSA website and a recording of the meeting is uploaded to CUSA’s YouTube channel.
